I have no sympathy with the knob-end driving the truck, it's the lives of all the other he put at risk driving like that, not only the public, but the emergency services people too!

Do you think the guy with the silver Hyundai just left it there in the hope of an insurance claim so he could start saving for a full-fat? Whistle

At 1:33 you can see where Clarkson got the idea for strapping rockets to a Reliant Robin Laughing

Well, although it's not bottles I did used to drive a Propane/Butane tanker for a well known gas supplier. Mainly bulking from Immingham refinery. But, i have seen an oxygen cylinder go off like a rocket when the valve got knocked off and I've never been so scared TBH. Almost soiled myself and I was a good 15 feet away when it happened. I also remember quite vividly the gas tanker which went up on the M3. 28 tonnes of propane makes a huge mess when it goes wrong.

Idiots like that just prove why there is a real need to re-evaluate goods vehicles and their drivers. Trucks have become way too easy to drive like a racing car with synchromesh boxes and power assisted everything. Bring back all manual trucks with crash boxes (or an Eaton twinsplitter) with smaller engines and lets see them race around then. There should also be a psychometric test as part of the HGV; not everyone has a suitable mentality to be allowed to drive trucks.

I will never forget the day I was driving back from Campbeltown with tanker full of propane and just before the Kennacraig ferry terminal a truck came round the bend on my side of the road. I still to this day don't know how I managed to get out of his way as the truck wqs still over my side of the road when he passed me.

I never did get rid of the smell in the cab after that... Laughing Laughing

Love the prats spectating so closely, even more moronic than the driver. I was on Dockexpress heavy lift vessel when the deck hands lost control of a cage of oxygen on the crane, its pretty amazing how far a bottle will go. Thank goodness we were out at sea coz the damned thing went for a couple of 100 metres - I was busy eating the deck not videoing it.
