I have no sympathy with the knob-end driving the truck, it's the lives of all the other he put at risk driving like that, not only the public, but the emergency services people too!

Well, although it's not bottles I did used to drive a Propane/Butane tanker for a well known gas supplier. Mainly bulking from Immingham refinery. But, i have seen an oxygen cylinder go off like a rocket when the valve got knocked off and I've never been so scared TBH. Almost soiled myself and I was a good 15 feet away when it happened. I also remember quite vividly the gas tanker which went up on the M3. 28 tonnes of propane makes a huge mess when it goes wrong.

Looks like the driver escaped which is a shame as this World could do with one less idiot onboard. Tom

I will never forget the day I was driving back from Campbeltown with tanker full of propane and just before the Kennacraig ferry terminal a truck came round the bend on my side of the road. I still to this day don't know how I managed to get out of his way as the truck wqs still over my side of the road when he passed me.

Love the prats spectating so closely, even more moronic than the driver. I was on Dockexpress heavy lift vessel when the deck hands lost control of a cage of oxygen on the crane, its pretty amazing how far a bottle will go. Thank goodness we were out at sea coz the damned thing went for a couple of 100 metres - I was busy eating the deck not videoing it. |
