Have you painted your TRW caliper carriers?

Hi,

Thanks to a supply from Advanced Factors I got shiny new rear TRW calipers, Brembo discs and pads fitted last weekend.

Thumbs Up

The Brembo discs look really good on the RR as they are finished in a gun metal grey/ ceramic type finish.

The rear TRW calipers are a shiny hammer type bright silver/ aluminium paint finish

As the wheels on our RR are the original, very crisp and clean silver finish, I'm minded not to overpaint the new calipers a different colour but just to paint the older and weathered caliper carriers (I would have replaced them with new but only realised they come as separate parts to the calipers too late before the fitting... and there's nothing wrong with the old carriers either).

I intend to paint the carriers in situ/ 'on the car' and wondered if anyone has found a good paint match for the TRW finish whether in spray or brush format (I would imagine brush would be more accurate easy and likely to give a hammer finish)?

I've also heard that Hammerite stays too tack for too long.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Thanks

Thumbs Up

Don't sell caliper paint so I am useless for you in this Crying or Very sad

But - New calipers and carriers are electro plated not painted, that might help towards seeking the colour you need?

Hammerite - I know of customers who have used it on brake discs and it does take forever to go hard all through, although this may make no difference to you just for the carrier frame. Paul Redding
