Got about the same amount of ground but mine has a few fairly steep slopes - had a Countax, pile of rubbish and heavy on fuel. Replaced it with a Stiga out front mower (4wd and diesel) great bit of kit. Frank Nicol in Dingwall are local dealers but I tend to go to Inverurie - guy in service dept there is very helpful and knows what he is talking about.

Agree with Stan's choice, the only mowers you can eat at the end of the growing season. |

I had a Countax C600H. Pretty good, only thing I discovered was that after the clippings pile got large, emptying the collector was a pain. Friend had an Iseki with a lifting device to empty the clippings. More expensive but all round better quality. Diesel. Bigger. If you can afford it I'd suggest you take a look. If you have slopes., go for 4WD. http://www.franknicol.co.uk/products/Iseki...ector.html Graham ____ Gone: 10MY L320 RR Sport HSE, Ipanema Sand Gone: 20MY Jaguar iPace HSE, Silicon Silver Gone: 17MY RR Evoque SE Tech, Loire Blue Gone: 08MY Discovery 3 XS, Stornoway Grey Gone: 07MY FFRR TDV8 Vogue, Stornoway Grey |

Thanks for the suggestions, most of the mower are a bit more than I have to spend unless I can find one second hand. Would love to get a diesel. Anything I should look out for on a second hand?

I have a John Deere - hasn't missed a beat in 3 years and parts seem very cheap relative to the competition. 4.2 Supercharged Vogue SE |

I needed one for the current place and didn't want to spend Countax money, I bought a Craftsman, US Brand, same machine as sold under Husqvarna.
