If like me you get a wet spare wheel compartment floor, why not try this little mod.

remove the rubber bung forward of the air compressor and cut two slits in it like so.



Then refit it upside down (as in the picture)

As most water tends to collect in this area, it should drain out of the slits, whilst the retained bung prevents mice from accessing a nesting site!

(Yes, I know, fix the original problem, but despite best efforts, not been able to track it down!) .

Reminds me of my old Ford I had, it leaked water into the footwells, I just drilled two holes in the floor pan to let the water out!

I didn't have to add the holes in my Mini the rust had seen to that  .

I popped out the bungs in my old Triumph Herald after hearing a SPLASH early one morning when I dropped my school bag in the passenger footwell. Can still remember the early morning brain slow puzzlement going " SPLASH ???????????????????? " Until it dawned on me why : 3 cm of water after a particularly bad rainstorm and the door seals not fitted properly.

Did sort the doorseals out but never put the bungs back, just in case  MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

hammer and screwdriver used to be my method, didnt have luxeries like power drills in my youth..
