Diesel fuel filter change 4.4 TDV8

Hi,
I have a 2012 4.4 TDV8 with 10.000miles in the clock, what I accumulated with very light use during the last 2 years. (OK, I know, I should had bought a 5.0 SC Smile)
Now my second scheduled service visit is due, but my authorized dealer is asking me whether I wish the diesel filter to be changed?
So far I had only one "small service" with only engine oil and filter change and accordingly the diesel fuel filter is still the one installed at the factory. Should I get that changed that or absolutely no need?
This upcoming would be the first "big service" of the 4.4 TDV8, what should I expect dealer to complete? I assume: oil, oil filter, air filter, pollen filter and diesel filter? anything else?
Thanks 4.4 TDV8 Vogue Buckingham Blue MY12

Do you have any idea how good or bad the quality of diesel is where you normally get it. Crap and water content. Filters are usually not a big cost so I tend to change sooner rather than later especially in places where fuel is not great. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Thanks for the response.
As I use it mostly in Hungary, I should look into Hungarian fuel quality which must not be outstandingly good, but so-so. Although I try to use premium fuel mostly, I hope there shouldn`t be an issue with that as all the petrol stations are claiming European standards...
My LR dealer/service just mentioned that the fuel filter is the most costly item of the branch which needs to be supplied. Mentioned something like 100quids. 4.4 TDV8 Vogue Buckingham Blue MY12

That is quite a steep price. What is the "normal" change interval ?? I mean that would be based on safe assumptions, say not great fuel to eliminate warranty issues. I would suggest to stay with the recommended schedule of change. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

10,000 miles, I wouldn't be changing it. The norm for diesel fuel systems are 50k plus before filters are changed

47p2 thanks for the expert answer! Smile
If you are this good in these service schedules, don't you have the list of things to be attended at a major 2 year service by any chance? I know that 3.6TDV8 schedule is in the wiki, but I just could not locate the 4.4TD...
Thanks for all advices! Thumbs Up 4.4 TDV8 Vogue Buckingham Blue MY12
