WOW!! Shocked
The guy in the FullFat had loads of time to get out, obviously not paying attention or he would have seen the truck and put his foot down easily avoiding the issue.

Nobody blamed the FF driver. Its an observation Smile .

But looking at the video its clear he was attempting to leave the parking space and a combination of slowness and poor reversing meant he was still there when the truck impacted.

Having lived and worked in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, this sort of thing is commonplace. I'd like to say the standard of driving there is appalling, but its not that good ! I've witnessed so many accidents like that over there. The guy was lucky he was in a FFRR.. Whistle Tony

I think the FF driver was looking....

What he did was see the lorry was moving over to the outer lane to let others pass possibly, so reversed in to avoid getting scraped and give more space to the lorry.

By the time the lorry was heading for the cars it was too late. it looked like the 4.4 and not an sc version so he wouldnt have made it out in time unless he planted it as soon as the lorry was in that lane.

Lets be honest, if it was you looking thru the mirror or over your shoulder you wouldn't realise what was likely to happen until the contact had been made with the first vehicle which was a few back and in a 20tonne unit, its not going to slow it down and the FF unless remapped wont take off anywhere near quick enough to save them due to the inherent comfort delay when you floor the accelerator in standard guise.

just my IMO mind but the ff prob saved them but i still bet the drivers side was battered in! FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

I agree,
If I floored my TDV8 the lorry could've delivered his load, had lunch & a few beers, put that cheque into the bank he's had in his pocket for the last 2 weeks he kept forgetting, set off back, crossed the central reservation from the opposite side and hit me before it kicked in. Neutral
Although once it kicked in it would be very fast! Razz
- but I'd already be dead. Big Cry

Have you been on the cider - its not quite that bad Laughing

The very slight hesitation used to annoy me ever so slightly - however if you use the sport mode hey presto - no hesitation!

I have also found that with city driving or local low ish speeds that the sport mode gives better mpg - as it eliminates unnecessary gear changes up and down

The point is they wouldnt have had time to engage sport mode and floor it once they changed out of reverse to get out of the way and could have made it worse if trying to get away by being pushed over possibly or at best case the rear being clipped and them being force rolled over down the road...

Better not to think of it at all i reckon Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

He just shouldn't have had that second dessert, then he'd be thinner and less in hospital.

And still have his Range Rover. Whistle
