Can anyone tell me how hard or easy it is to get at the rear fuel pump, car will not start unless you leave ignition on for about 30 seconds. You can hear the pump running at back of car, also air can be seen coming through the fuel pipe after fuel filter, when air/pump stops it starts no bother. Any ideas anyone.

You should at least fault read it
it might be leaking injector or remote fuel pump
less likely the one in the tank

Thumbs Up

Cheers, I did have it read but can't find the report however the car is going in on Tuesday to hopefully get fixed. Not sure where remote pump is. There is no smell of diesel in engine bay or any where around the car. so unlikely a fuel leak. Driving very carefully runs fine but if you boot it injection fault comes up, air in fuel pipe after filter.

The second pump is easily accessible underneath the car. Have a look around on the forum as scores of people have had issues with them. Stan is the man for helping with searching and have you looked in the Wiki ? MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

car now fixed, it was a very small fracture in the fuel line after the fuel filter, thank you to all who gave advice, Considering changing car now don't use it as much now so looking at something different, Jaguar maybe.

Yes fraid so, car will go on Friday afternoon, have bought a s type jaguar 2006, only until next year when I will get a xf jag. Thanks to all who contributed to any problems I had, the site is a hive of information to anyone who has a RRfullfat, they are a fantastic car and wish I could afford to keep it. Maybe 1 day I will get another, cheers.
