Retrofit adaptive cruise to 4.4 tdv8

Being a vogue my 4.4'doesnt have adaptive cruise.

I have seem several modules on eBay, steering wheel controls, and the radar unit. Does anyone know what else would be needed to enable the adaptive cruise, I realise that it would require the ccf to be edited with the IId or such, but are there any additional modules or looms needed? There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Not entirely sure TBH. My thoughts are whether or not the ABS pump is different. The adaptive version is capable of braking as well as holding speed. Might be worth checking if the part numbers are the same across the range. In theory they ought to be but we all know LR are capable of snatching defeat from teh jaws of victory Laughing

Perhaps ask Dan.

Cheers, I have send Dan a PM.

Looking at Microcat, it shows that the 3.6 and 5.0 need several modules, however the 4.4 only shows the one. You could be right about the braking systems though, i will let Dan have a look and see what he can find.

if its just the mounting plate, sensor and steering wheel controls then I reckon i could do it for under £300. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

The various modulator part numbers for MY10-MY12 appear to only relate to 3 VIN ranges rather than options of various vehicles in the same VIN range, with only 1 current modulator listed per VIN range. However the ACC speed control module s/w may need to match for the same VIN range as the ABS modulator, so a s/h ACC module my need the appropriate s/w for the recipient vehicle loaded.

I note that the 4.4TDV8 is also shown on my version of Microcat as using 1 sensor whereas for the 5.0 petrol (SC or NA) 2 sensors are fitted. Also noted is that the 4.4TDV8 uses the same sensor link harness as the 5.0 although the harness may have a 3rd (main harness) connector not well shown, especially as I cannot see a main harness connector on any sensor in the diagrams.

It appears that there are not separate body electrical harnesses for with and without ACC, so the connectors must exist. A single sensor would have to be mounted in the centre so I would expect to find an unused connector nearby although it is probably tucked well out of harm's way.

Edit: The speed control module is the same as that fitted to MY10-13 RRS but would be incompatible with earlier vehicles (pre MY10) due to those vehicles using a different CANBUS protocol.
