So does the chest pain come before or after the attack itself ? |

As far as my medical education goes....will most of the victims of a heart attack suffer from "warning pains" in the period (weeks or even months) before the real thing. The attack itself can be very painfull, and here is the problem..., not always severe enough to wake you up. One exemple means nothing in science, but my father went to bed and never woke up, due to heart failure. Later I heard that he had suffered from non severe chestpains in the months ahead, but never paid any attention to it. So be aware of the signals you body gives you. Stay healthy all of you |

I'm going to the funeral of a good friend and work colleague of 23 years on Thursday. He had some chest pains Tuesday last week, didn't turn up on Wednesday. Was found dead in his flat 51 years old |

Makes sense - so if I start getting random chest pains, it's time to start popping the aspirin at bedtime.

Depends on age, my dear Alistair. 51 is not an age to stop living. If you start to feel pain in the chest, go to the doctor! |
