DPF Cleaning

I'm not about to remove or otherwise fiddle with the DPF as it's there for a reason.
The question I have is how to best maintain it, I understand that running at high revs for a period of time is the answer but what revs and for how long. Guys on here talk about taking it for a blast but again if you want to do high revs in top gear that's a fair speed, if I use sport I can obviously force it to rev higher on the motorway or even around town, I did think a week or so in sport just for general driving might do it.
I did get a lot of black smoke on accelerating but that was due to a small split in one of the turbo hoses, now fixed but still more smoke than I would like when giving it the beans ,so to speak Very Happy
Anyone got any thoughts. (Not practical to swap for a 5.0 Supercharged but it's on my list)
Thumbs Up Geoff

Ah so (as our Japanese friends say) , if its a 2007 (MY 2006) as only registered Jan 1 2007 then no DPF - happy days.
Explains the puff of smoke on acceleration and there is nowt I can do about it - except stop worrying Very Happy

Thanks Stan, I know you're right as you always are.

Stans correct. Any noticeable difference in performance or fuel consumption Geoff?

Maybe its too many short journeys ?

No Conor I think I've just been more aware of it after reading the DPF debate on here. It's noticeable only during heavy acceleration. It maybe something to do with the Superchips remap I did, although that was well over a year ago. Geoff
