Doesn't the "R" mean RESERVE? i.e. it is running on LPG but it's very low.

Not got LPG, but I'd too go with Skot, R stands for Reserve I'd imagine. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Got a stag 4000 system on mine, row of 4 green lights but the last one turns red when LPG level in tank is low.

the indicators are way off IME (can be expected with a float in a toroidal horizontal tank)
