I bought my car in January 2013. 2006 SC. Now on 70k miles

The dealer (non franchised) sold it as "just serviced" and stamped book. I doubt it was anything more than the most basic.
I have only done <6k miles since buying it.

When would I expect the service light to come on?
I appreciate that some people would always service every 12 months regardless, but to be honest I didn't have the cash just after Xmas.

It is being booked in for discs and pads next week, as soon as i find a decent local Indy.
So now thinking do I go for service whilst it's there, regardless of whether the light is on ?
Would a diagnostic tool tell me 'miles to next service'?

2006 4.2 Supercharged, Java Black

My 2002 range rover tells me how many miles to the next service service on the dash when i turn the ignition on, and then after a couple of seconds it goes off.

Surely the newer models do the same ?

Not sure on the 'mile to next service' thing. Never saw it come up on a 2006 S/C. Can recommend RCV in East Peckham for servicing and remedial work. They would be about a 25/30 minute drive from the bridge and they do courtesy cars if required....probably less time to get there in an S/C
