United Kingdom 2003 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Monte Carlo Blue
first time green laner

Decided today would be the day I removed my "training wheels" and finally use my off road height for its intended purpose Laughing

Sorry about the quality of the pics. Behind where I work we have a massive tank park with huge sand dunes and hills/ ponds and all the usual things that can bring a smile to your face. Great fun in a tank, just as much in a FFRR!!

Thumbs Up

Thats good going, im guessing the sand is harder than it looks as im always worried about sand when waters about as it can go very soft under your foot never mind a wheel... FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

The only green laning I've done is when I off-roaded out of a car park to avoid paying the fee. I should give it a go sometime.

Will have to look up if it's done here or in South Germany.

Honestly I couldn't recommend it more. I was a little afraid of doing it before I started but once I got into the swing of it, I was fine.
The sand is tricky to judge, at one point I was probably driving at 45 degrees as half of the car sank. I'm not going to lie, I was a little afraid of getting stuck at that point lol. But big blue just churned its way out of there without a care in the world.

I'm so pleased I've done this now, and might even have to find another spot to try out. Don't be afraid of getting dirty with these gents, They are epic at X country. If anyone lives near Guildford and wants a bash give me a PM and I'm sure we could arrange something. Thumbs Up Bushy

Looks great!

But a few innocent questions meant to get you thinking before you go out next time:-

1. Do you have any recovery gear and do you know how to use it?
2. Was anyone else with you to give assistance?
3. Did you have a CB / contact person on-hand to give you help if you did get stuck?
4. Did you have permission to use the land?

None of the above are meant to cause offence and I'm sure you've considered the above already. Si. <This is my name.

Hi Bellini,

No offence taken.

Yes I had another defender out with me and about 15 guys working out on the area to push if needed as well as a tow strop and shovels etc. I even have a turf winch if it gets really bad!
I had my mobile with all the numbers required for the area and my friends.
And yes I have the use of the land, as its part of our training area, and I had booked onto it.

Hopefully that answers your concerns. Bushy
