Considering I have been driving pretty hard the past week or so I was surprised to see my consumption figures.

Not bad, just got an average of 26 on my last tank. Had a trip to the lakes with mixed driving so thought that was quite good. |

At the risk of going a bit off topic... (again) I would love a TDV8, I've looked for one a couple of times, but I was so spoilt with what I paid for my Td6 that I have a psychological problem paying 35k-45k for a good TDV8 when my Td6 (which was and is good) was only 24k at three years old and low milage. To pay so much for one two or three years old makes me think it's a lot more sensible to just go for new... and I can't afford one of those. Particularly as other than better acceleration and better refinement everything else is pretty much the same. So it's like spending 20k just to have less noise moving from the Td6 to the TDV8. Bare in mind that at over 31mpg I drive mostly like an OAP and 90% of my driving is commuting into/out of London where performance is pretty irrelevent. I just can't make the TDV8 argument add up for my personal position. It feels like buying a bigger lump of future depreciation. Maybe later when the new model is out and TDV8 prices drop as they are not the current engine... Ramble over. |

Its a hard one to call, my change was different, and has been exaggerated by the jump from RRS TDV6 to FF TDV8, but oh boy what a differnce. Know most of the uplift is from RRS to FF but the engine and performance is awesome. Gone back 2 years but worth it x2 in my humble uninformed opinion, had i bit the bullet in September would have saved £10k No body told me there would be days like these

Well having come to the TDV8 from a 4.4 V8 Discovery I am amazed at the economy.

I have noticed that on my 3.0 V6 CRD 300c the fuel consumption figures are much better when travelling quite fast and 75-80mph seems about the best!
