Dirty windscreen

Hi Guys.

Just a quick question. What do you guy's find is the best for cleaning the inside of the windscreen. Mine is terrible when driving into the sun. Ive tried all sorts to clean it with no real success what ever I use just leave streaks and the glass has a sort of stickiness to it.

Cheers in advance.

Al

I use auto glym fast glass, but like most things, don't put too much on and give it a thorough wipe off.

If you drive round with the sunroof or windows down etc, it doesn't seem to take long for it to get cruddy again.

Trouble is, you need a duster or one of those wipey pad things in the centre armrest. I had mine in the door pocket, which is useless as I can't reach it whilst driving 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

vinegar and newspaper. Can't be beaten for cleaning, but absolutely agree with glass polish once clean. 2011 Stornaway Grey 5.0SC Autobiography

The reason newspaper was supposedly great was the fact that there was ammonia in the ink and ammonia is great for cleaning. I used it to prep for painting (as highschool student I used to moonlight as a house painter and made good money) houses. First clean was water with ammonia until the old paint was quite clean, sand and then do a last clean with water and ammonia. Paint lasted for a long time.

Anyway, back on track, I'm not sure whether newspapers still uses ammonia in the ink. So alternative could be water with a small amount of ammonia and a clean cloth Smile MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

I've always found autoglym car glass cleaner and a microfibre cloth give A1 results Thumbs Up (NOT the 'fast glass', as this is designed to clean plastic / perspex rather than glass - but it works a treat on the tin tent windows) Thumbs Up 2006 (56 Reg) 4.4 V8 Vogue In Bonatti Grey (Gorgeous!!)

+1 Autoglym Car Glass Polish

Also the Karcher window cleaner handhelds are pretty darn good too with any proprietary supermarket glass cleaner.
Bit more tricky on the inside of the windscreen but great for all the other ones. Current Fleet:-

Laughing

But I thought car glass was totally different to other glass that's why I can't clean glass that's not on a car. Just like if I get the carpet in the car really clean and mint, that's a different sort of carpet than any other, like what may be in a house for instance.....
