tailgate release button

my obligatory tailgate button cover didnt fit very well [?] and kept on falling off, silicon didnt help so it now resides in the bin.....
so as an alternative i took the trim cover off and put some toolbox draw material over the button and screwed the trim back down..it doesnt look to bad and still stops the 'accidental' button presses..
i suppose you could use any material to get a similar effect..

this is how the LR cover sits and you can see the 'lip' on the bottom edge which gets caught and results in the cover coming off,
