New alloys, or maybe not......................?

Confused Confused Confused

Hi all,

Just bought some alloys off ebay, supposed to be 2010 supercharged / autobiography 10 spoke with tyres, thought price was good but now now so sure.

Tyres fitted to 4 are 109y scorpion's zero 255/50/20 and spare has a Michelin (missed this when picking them up that it was different, although all tyres seem new with bands still on them.

Question i have is about alloy wheel loading, what should it be stamped on these wheels, secondly, how would i know if they are fakes as they seem to be stamped Land Rover etc etc.

Guy seemed genuine but now having second thoughts. Especially as i picked them up and didn't notice (thought he looked an honest geezer!!)

Also to open up the discussion even more, if i'm changing 2006 supercharged alloys to 2010 supercharge alloys should you notify your insurance? they are still manufacturers fit just a later year??

Thanks If its not broke now it soon will !!!

Neutral If the small Land Rover logo script on the inside of the wheel is 'raised' then there is a good possibility that they are genuine Wink (also - when I looked at replacement alloys, the replica versions where very much lighter than genuine wheels) Hope I am correct with suggesting this and you've not been ripped off.

With regards to the insurance I would guess that if they are identical size and correct tyres for your model then this should not be a problem - problems only occur when they are ex-RRSport wheels / with different size tyres or special biggedy wheels that exceed original wheel value. The only way to be sure is to explain to your insurance company and see what they say.

On rear of of the wheel there should be a raised "Land Rover" emblem and a part no on one of the spokes.

Pics will confirm to me. Tyres have the correct load rating and tyre size though.

Razz Razz Razz

Thanks for the info, have checked and the do have a raised emblem and other info, 940kg loading, Made in Germany (AH42-1007-ABW) etc

Also contacted guy i bought them off, he said he didn't notice the different tyre when he bought them, also the alloy its on is the same style but older than the rest, so deffo swapped over at some point. He did offer a full refund if i'm not happy as well.

The all are supposed to be new unused 2010 autobiography / supercharged alloys (LR010666) but have just LR009 on them which i thought a bit strange, but they all look new the "Range Rover" words are cut in so tend to think they are straight.

However, five new alloys as above, 5 new tyres for £1192 i thought was a bargain as tyres alone would cost me that much!!!

Thumbs Up Thanks again for the info.

Cheers If its not broke now it soon will !!!

Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Thanks for advice and info.

99% sure that these are the real deal.

Emailed another guy on ebay selling similar wheels, see below, his wheels have exactly same raised stamps as mine and are stamped LR009 940kg, same numbers, made in Germany etc.

So, five new wheels and tyres is a result i think.
