2008 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Stornoway Grey

Today I had a very strongly worded conversation with a chap who has just parted with £34k for a 14 plate XC90....and was telling me how in "everyway it out performs your range rover"....

He then declined every "challenge" I presented until all he had left was..."well I can seat 7 people in comfort".....my wife commenting "the way you speak to ppl I am surprised you have 7 friends to fill the seats".....result Laughing Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

Canada 2008 Range Rover HSE 4.4 V8 Java Black

Rolling with laughter
Only experience of Xc90:

I went with my dad a number of years ago as he was interested in one. I remember it was comfy and had nice seats.
On the way back from the test drive, I got behind the wheel for a bit so dad could try out the back seat.
I wasn't familiar with the area, so the salesman was directing me back to the dealership. We used an alleyway to access the dealership.

"Oh, don't slow down for those speed bumps. This is a very strong car and it can take anything," advised the salesman. So I didn't slow down. Car was fine. However, my father, who is hard of hearing and hadn't heard the salesman's directions, was rather surprised, Shocked

Dad bought a Lexus instead. (I don't know if you get them in Euroland, Lexus = blinged up Toyota.)

Ireland 2011 Range Rover HSE TDV8 Santorini Black

I just traded in my 13 reg volvo xc90 last week to go back to range rover. It was big mistake trading the old td6 in for. Don't get me wrong the xc90 is a great family wagon, but once you have had a full fat your gonna just keep comparing them and they are in different leagues.

The seven seats are good if u have a big family but if u don't ur just stuck giving people lifts everywhere cause u have the extra seats. The tank was tiny I was in the garage constantly filling her up and the window washer fluid constantly empty (it's the little things that get to me sometimes) It was plasticky inside, the infotainment system was pain in the h Censored e and had no luxuries really as standard like the FF has.

Again they can't really be compared. It's a good family car more reliable than a FFRR (what isn't!), cheaper to buy tax and on diesel, more seats, and not bad looking either IMO.

Onto my FFRR, Probably won't ever own another make of motor now ever unless change of personal circumstances. No more kids for me, so no need for more seats. I'll probably just keep upgrading the model and age over the years.. Thumbs Up

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Orkney Grey

I used to look on a Volvo forum for the 7mths I was in RR less. There are strange bunch over there, Obsessed with who can get the best MPG who had what options and if a sat nav could be retro fit to a couple people who had just bought new cars with no sat nav etc etc.
They were fairly friendly untill I anounced that I hated my new xc60 the ride was spine shattering and was going back to a wonderfull gas guzzling Range Rover Vogue TDV8. Laughing Which seamed to upset a few of them,
after that I was the colour of a sheep opposite to white which would be B***k then, to be politically correct and I could sense the jealousy even across the interweb.
It isn't half bad to be back and this time i'm stopping for good.
