The old man has a leak on his hilux, he is pretty clueless tbh and has been driving round with it for ages and has turned the Tarmac outside his house black (er).

On closer inspection pretty much the entire of the underside of the truck was covered in diesel! I wiped everything down and ran the the truck, and after about 20 mins traced it to one of the connections on the pressurised fuel rail. Not easy to find as the much of the side of the engine was coated in derv.

I managed to wangle a spanner into the space and get it to turn about 1 1/2 turns no wonder it was leaking

Hopefully all sorted now, it's a wonder it didn't catch fire to be honest, there was a fair amount of diesel about. He's pleased as well as it has saved a trip to the garage, a big labour bill no doubt! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Only thing you may find, Derv and Tarmac in quantities don't mix very well, your tarmac may well end up sh ged  2006 (56 Reg) 4.4 V8 Vogue In Bonatti Grey (Gorgeous!!)

It's on his tarmac and yes it has started to break up a little  There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

No where near as dangerous as a petrol leak... But agreed still a fire damage... Good job sir...

Fortunately it is on the opposite side to the turbo and exhaust manifold! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

TBH for diesel to catch fire it usually has to be a naked flame or a very very high temp.

If it leaked onto the exhaust and turbo it could cause it but unless it was streaming out it likely would look more like steam than a flame igniting.

I had a Corrolla Verso T180 and the 5th injector to do the de-cat stuff ruptured and spewed fuel all over the engine bay! they replaced the sound proofing underbonnet and on the bulkhead and it was soaked in the stuff, took them longer to do that than repair the fault but after that escapade the car had to go as it had more warranty claims than the average 80's alfa! FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Yeah, had a look to check it and it has stemmed the leak and its all dry round the fuel rail now. There is a piece of foam on the front of the gearbox which was wringing wet in derv, i think it will take a while for all of that to work its way out as there is still a few drips on the bottom of the truck, but much much better. Will have a look in a week and see if its dried out! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
