ROOF PROBLEM!

Hello,

I think the previous owner of my FF have fitted an roof rack/rail/bar system and have cut the channels covers out of the roof and i have the holes on the roof and the water get inside...

There is any way to fix this and cover the holes?

Many thanks! Ex-FULLFATTY now downgraded

There are six treaded holes to screw the roof rack in to , these need treaded bolts put back into them I take it yours are now missing ? you might find an M5 or M6 bolt that fits I'm not sure about the size . If the plastic flaps have been cut off you must buy new trims entirely from your dealer and have them painted and fitted because the plastic flaps cannot be fitted back on after they have been cut off Big Cry 2008 MY Supercharged

The channel covers do not seal the roof, water should not get inside even if they are missing, check that the small grub screws arent missing from the fixpoints though these also shouldnt let water in!

Unfortunately the covers are not available separately and if you want to put them back you will need whole new gutter trims, which will need paint. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Thanks for the replies!

What caught my attention was some old cranky tape on the rails... i thought the water can get inside and make some damage!

I'm more relaxed now! I gonna check that if the small grub screws aren't missing from the fix points!

Thanks! Ex-FULLFATTY now downgraded

From memory the 6 threaded holes in the fixing points won't leak even if the grub screws (8mm thread) are missing, the holes are blind ie they don't go right thro the roof. Thumbs Up
