Breast cancer and testicular cancer.

Noticed recently that the campaigns for breast cancer awareness are all rightly serious in nature but everything around testicular is jokey or has a woman scantily clad to encourage you to check for lumps.

Seems weird that male genitalia is the subject of jokes even when the message is serious. Not sure if I'm getting my point over but it just annoys me!

They are not making fun of testicular cancer, they are just using a marketing trick that works and will get us to check something that is serious.

If you make something sexy and/or funny we find it more interesting and will remember it and act on it more than than if the message is put across like a nagging lecture. Women act on fear and protectionism more than men hence the two different tactics. It works the same way throughout the marketing world with many products. Tom

Clever but still find it pretty stereo typical and unnecessary, one persons point of view but I just feel it could easily be done without the bs.

I know what you mean, but they have to angle the marketing to get the greater response. Whatever the method, if it gets more men aware of the issue than other approaches then it has succeeded.

For example, and I hope they introduce this: If they offered cancer checks for men by nurses in sexy outfits then the queue around the hospital for screening would be miles long....... Tom
