TDV8 Oil Service cost?

I have just had a quote for an Oil Service from a main agent on a 4.4 TDV8 i.e. the cheap one at £499.00 incl VAT Shocked

I only wanted the oil changing not a bloody well drilling

absolutely shocked - last one I had was around the £300. getting other quotes, but

dare I ask, what is everyone else paying???

More importantly, check the dealer actually puts in oil which matches Land Rovers specifications not whatever oil is in the nearest bucket.

Been there got the T-shirt (figuratively speaking) and moved from Land Rover to Porsche with no regrets. My Cayenne is faster, uses less fuel and cheaper to service. Very Happy

Source the oil at ECP £40 then ask how long it takes an indy to change the oil and filter for you. £75, May even get a stamp thrown in if your lucky Laughing

many thanks Gary, Thumbs Up I would do - though just a little concerned it may compromise my warranty Confused having seen how Land Rover have tried to wriggle out of new engines on several occasions over the last 40 years...

Like Gary says, supply the oil yourself. That's what I do and it saves me over £100, or it did on my TDV8. That was Castrol Magnatec A1 which can be bought for £18/4Ltrs, so £36 for 2 4L cans. The main dealer used to charge £21 per litre when they supplied it.

As long as it's made clear what was used on the invoice you won't have any warranty issues.

FWIW, I keep an eye on the various sales. Halfords tend to have the A1 Ford spec oil on offer every so often, as do Tescos. Last lot I bought was some 2L cans from Tesco which I got for £4.50 a can so I bought all they had (40 odd cans) since the wife's 3.0D Jag XF uses the same stuff.

Hungary 2012 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Buckingham Blue

may I ask what is included in an "Insp1" and an "Insp2" service?
I guess the basics are the oil + oil filter; then maybe air filter and fuel filter? Pollen filter? what else? and which is Insp1 and which is Insp2?
All this referes to 4.4 TDV8... Thanks 4.4 TDV8 Vogue Buckingham Blue MY12

Scotland 2004 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Rimini Red

Remember the 4.4TDV8 needs the low SAPS oil as it has a DPF (Shell usually) and is about £70-£80 even thru opie but should save a bit over dealer cost.

We have sold our 4.4 now but thought it was just an A and B service.....but could be wrong......

But defo cheaper getting your own oil. I think we paid £260 then £340 providing our own oil both times for first and second respectively.

I would suggest to the dealer that you could source your own oil to negotiate the price, although the reality is that through buying in bulk, the dealer will still make a significant profit selling you the oil at the rate you can source for… 4.2 Supercharged Vogue SE
