High Mileage - now found one - Colour and price thoughts?

Hello Again all,

I posted about running a FF in london earlier.

One more question - I have a healthy budget £22-23K - and therefore can get a relatively low (40k or so) mile 2008 plate car.

However, never wanting to spend money unecessarily - there are high milers (90k or so) around for more like 16-17.

What am i letting myself in for if I were to go for one of these - bearing in mind I'd be unlikely be able to get an LR warranty on one?

Also - on warranty - it's 60 quid for the inspection and then around £800-900 per year right?

Thanks!

I purchase my 06 one with 120k on the clock and I have had a couple of niggles. New fuel pump, new eas compressor, and a PDC fault is all that I have done to it in 4 years. High milers aren't too much of a problem as long as they have been looked after 06MY 4.4 V8 Autobiography Cairns Blue with Navy & Parchment Interior

Thanks Steve,

As ever - it's a toss up between money saved now vs potentially much bigger bills later..

bigglesz, its a lottery. depends on the car 200K good, 60k bad , no rhyme or reason to it, as with all cars, buy what you want and get a good warranty Thumbs Up

Thanks Guys,

Looking back on the question - it's a real noob mistake not to search the forum first - I myself on the BMW M5 forums would have probably said the same thing to me..

I have my eye on a 2010 TDV8 with 97k on the clock - 1 owner, Full service history - Scottish car with motorway miles..

Considering right now if it's worth the miles to get into final facelift car. It's on for only 22k..

Phoned the supplying Land Rover dealer and spoke to service - Full service History - last seen a few months ago - won't divulge the repairs but the owner has bought every land rover from them from years and he takes really good care of his cars. Bought a new one and traded this one in.

It's buckingham blue with Navy Leather. Looks ok in pictures but has anyone else had Navy leather??!

The wife had navy leather on a silver Z4 Coupe - very nice, understated and a bit different to black

Not as much surface area in a Z4 though..... 2007 Zermatt Silver TDV8 Vogue SE - now sold but was a great car!

Navy leather will be reason for low price. Censored to sell I had Buck Blue Navy Combo TDV8 once and in the end had to take a Jeep Commander in PX and that was even harder to sell - ended up trading it at a loss.

Still very good price though as £26k in a good colour combo Smile
