Rear wiper motor - post seal replacement

I just replaced the washer in my rear wiper motor as it was leaking on the wash - it all seemed to go fine and put it all back together and half a wipe later, it stopped working. It felt very tight putting the case back together into the new washer and I had to apply a lot of force to get it to seat.

I have checked front and back fuses and both are OK. I assume the motor is dead before I take it all apart again??

Many thanks in advance guys Thumbs Up 4.2 Supercharged Vogue SE

my thoughts are that you might have put it back together incorrectly... ... - .- -.

Very oddly - exactly the same experience, took it off, refitted it and the motor fired back into life!

Sadly still leaking even with the new washer so new motor ordered…. 4.2 Supercharged Vogue SE

When I did mine the first set of screws I used sat slightly too high and jammed the mechanism on reasembly. Might be worth checking yours as you mentioned it was tight when you reassembled too. Smaller headed screws sorted it. 2012 Westminster TDV8 4.4 Indus Silver
