Just to add to the confusion MY2012 flashes with indicators, my 2007 TDV8 stayed on permanently.

Just arrived after my first long tow with a caravan on the back. All works fine. No flashing with indicators, fridge relay working, pdc cuts out and tows lile a dream.

 There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Sounds like the latest models have a complicated tsp and anti snaking system. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Just to add to the fun i have just fitted the 7pin system and i dont get a green light at all,
but it has cut my sensors out and the ride hight doesnt change, of the joy,s of ownership  Current Stable:

I have a seven pin socket (westfalia?) and tow bar but have an adaptor lead to convert to the older 7 pin plugs on the van.
The suspension locks at standard height and the rear sensors turn off when all connected up but I dont have any green trailer light on the dash like I used to in my Disco 2 and Freelanders which used to flash with the indicators. I thought some sort of dash or audio indication was a requirement? I have not tried it connected to a van with a 13 pin plug if that makes any difference.

My 2002 did not have any warning light.

The requirement for a warning is to show that the flashers are not working so I assume that the bulb failure circuit will know that a trailer flasher has failed and give a warning.

I always meant to try mine but my van has double indicators on the rear so I would have to have taken 2 bulbs out.

might just pull a bulb out to see. What could possibly go wrong?  Mine was a blue one!

Right, have just hitched up the van electrics, we are away in it at the moment so nice and easy,

Removed the rear ns light cluster on the van and took off the indicator lead.

Trailer light on dash, no flashing with indicators.

Bulb removed, and i get a nice "check trailer lights" message.

All is good.  There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Must be bored this afternoon. hitched RR to caravan all as normal no warning lights of any kind. with indicator on took bulb out of caravan. warning bong and check trailer light message also car indicator speed up like there was a bulb gone onthe car. so all is well  Mine was a blue one!

So they all seem to do something slightly different presumably depending on what type of install and the age of the ff.

But the bulb failure system should mean that come mot time anyone with a 13 pin electric system will pass as they are now testing these. Not 12n and 12s sockets though. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
