i'd start with the battery, make sure its fully charge and holding its charge.. ... - .- -.

If the battery was a duffer, surely it wouldn't fire the ignition? Also, lights windows a/c all work as normal. If the battery wasn't holding a charge, then the car would never start as I only use it about once a week on average. |

if there's a slight degrade in available power then not all the ecu's fire up and the ICE is regarded as non essential so all the power goes to the start up sequence..

I'm still not sure about that Stan. The car has only done this after the last two refuellings. At other times it doesn't happen. It sits for days on end between uses - some times a week or more, so if the battery was on the way out, surely I would have had problems starting after such a prolonged period of inactivity. I don't though; it fires first time on the button. A real mystery! I've posed the question to the techies at the supplying dealer and I'm waiting for their reply. |

that is strange...something is contributing to this problem when you fill up, static maybe? ... - .- -.
