Well, the new arrival has been left with Warren at A-Z, and when I arrived it was a pleasant surprise to see that I had visited him before a few years ago to have the lpg serviced on my SL500.

I've got to admit it was a bit disheartening reading comments on converting a 4.2sc on the web, when you could find them so I intend on changing that with a monthly diary on my experiences in my FFRR.

I am definitely a fan of LPG as have been running a 99 SL500 on it for a number of years without a single problem aside from the problem of hiding the grin on my face at petrol stations. There is no drop in power just in the price of getting from A-B. I admit a have a bit of a lead right foot, but absolutely enjoy the experience of driving. I also employ an accountant in order to make my company tax efficient so wish to continue with becoming more tax efficient when filling up my cars.

Business has also been a bit slack these past few years so denying me the opportunity to buy a brand new Range Rover for around £70k+, so there is definitely an element of saving money on my weekly pilgrimage to my local garage. A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to buy a 58 plate 4.2sc Autobiography with 33,000 miles on the clock for a smidge over £28k, a bargain I believe. If I can continue this trend by paying just £64 for around 350 miles against £132 for 400 miles I will also consider this a result.

Hopefully the soft valves won't wear out with the gas, I've done my homework and had a recommendation from a member of this site but as they say, the proof is in the pudding. Having dealt with Warren before I have every confidence that from next week I will once again be enjoying that glorious growl out the back but without overpaying for the privilege.

Well, I don't feel any difference at all switching to lpg or petrol makes no difference neither in power, nor in acceleration.
Good maintenance of the lpg installation is a must though.

Has that been proven. Are the Jag engines fully protected with flashlube? I'm not disputing; I could just never find a definitive answer.
