AA/RAC Inspections

Anyone had any dealings with the AA or RAC for used vehicle inspections?

I cant personally test drive the FF that I want (my wife is due to give birth any day soon) and want a full report prior to handing over my cash.

Does anyone know how much a 'Full' inspection costs?

Cheers I'd kiss the ground for the welcome sound of me mother sayin 'Hinny Howay'

I had an RAC inspection done on the first ever Defender I bought (back in 1995!!) The cost then was around £120 I think (it will obviously be more now). It was well worthwhile, the report I got was extremely comprehensive, he had picked up a lot of (mainly minor) issues, and armed with this I was able to knock £500 off the £7,000 asking price, I also had a list of what to put right once I bought the vehicle. Thumbs Up

The only thing you may find is that they are busy and not able to examine the vehicle when you want. In my case, I have actually been with the AA for years, but when i rang them they said they couldn't do it for at least a week. Big Cry

So, I (rather cheekily) rang the RAC Twisted Evil , told them I was with the AA who couldn't do it for a week - they sent a guy out to do it next day, got a verbal report from him by 'phone and the full written report the following day - they even did it for me at RAC member price!! Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

So, from my experience, although not cheap, well worth it Thumbs Up Thumbs Up 2006 (56 Reg) 4.4 V8 Vogue In Bonatti Grey (Gorgeous!!)

Where are you buying it from. Question

If its a private sale then get some to look at it for you.
If its a dealer then i wouldn't bother as you can refuse the car and get deposit back when you pick it up. If its not as they said it is.

The one im thinking of is a dealer called Hamworthy car Centre in Poole (they can stick it straight on the ferry to Guernsey from Poole)

Its a 2007 and has 74000 miles on the clock I'd kiss the ground for the welcome sound of me mother sayin 'Hinny Howay'
