Wonder if it would work in my Sony Amp instead of just into a TV....

Saying that though i have the sky wifi dongle thing already so it gives me most of this. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

the one advantage a chromecast has is that it 'mirrors' what you have on your laptop/ipad/tablet onto your tv screen which is something i dont need as i already have a 'now tv' box with plex loaded .. ... - .- -.

On a related note as you guys seem reasonably informed - is there any device out there that would let me stream what's playing on my laptop, e.g. a downloaded movie on VLC (outside of a web browser like Chrome), to my TV other than Apple TV? MY11 Vogue 4.4 TDV8 - "African Queen"

thanks Stan - will do a little research on this. Is it hard to get Plex put onto a now tv box? Could it be used on any other digital media streaming device, such as the Western Digital one? MY11 Vogue 4.4 TDV8 - "African Queen"

You could use a hdmi cable if your laptop supports it.

I do that all the time as my laptop then just sits out of site while I'm on the sofa and use rdp from my phone to control the laptop when I want to do something on it like pause Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
