Thanks to Craig he sent me some new buttons for my aircon panel. What happened was I was Hoovering the car and decided to vacuum around the aircon Auto button. The next thing I knew was the Auto button was sucked into hoover I managed to retrieve button but it was in two pieces. Today I removed the panel to replace the button. I was able to separate the unit and unscrew the panel to gain access to the rear of the buttons. Does anyone know how to remove button from panel as the buttons are integral to a plastic cog for the rotating of the button it wasn't clear how to remove the button from the housing. The replacement buttons I received are different also and are too narrow to fit the top of the existing button also the rear part of the button is a different shape to mine so unsure even if I can get button out if the replacement will work .As my car is a HSE it differs from the Vogue panel in that the temperature buttons above the clock also house a push button for the heated seats where on the vogue these are either side of the clock. Anyway realising the delicate set up I put everything back together and glued the broken button back on. Now the Auto button stays on and rotating the dial has a limited effect so need to have another look tomorrow. I think the only option at this stage is to try and source a second hand unit but unfortunately it needs to be for a HSE rather than a Vogue. I have two questions do the buttons on the Vogue either side of the Auto button have a press function or are they fixed. My thinking was maybe a Vogue panel might do. My second question is does anyone know how to remove button and housing from unit without damaging the housing etc? I shudder to think how much a new unit might cost and most that come up on the bay seem to be for a Vogue.thanks.

Early Vogue panels don't get the silver rings around the dials but are the same units pretty much |

Just as an aside, how are the temperature numbers lit? The passenger side numbers on my car are much dimmer than the drivers side. Is it a bulb round the back, or something more complicated? Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

All sorted picked up replacement panel from a Vogue this morning for reasonable money and in good nick. Took me about 5 mins to fit . Disconnected battery this time just in case. Result all working as it should and nice shiney buttons I think once you remove the unit and open it unless your super careful the chances are you will have issues so dont do it Oh and dont put a vacum cleaner near the buttons on full suction Present :2008 TDV8 HSE
