Steering Angle Sensor

So my mate set about replacing a steering angle sensor on a 2003 4.4 yesterday. Land Rover says it's a six hour job. You can see why. Perhaps Land Rover would like to explain why a vital part that is likely to wear and make the vehicle unusable is fitted in such away as to make replacement so expensive.

Ouch!

I think I've seen on another forum that you can just take the column out 4" and change that way? I seem to remember Meersbusch saying this?

Still though, for something that can wear out it's a bl Censored y inconvenient thing!
