Would the taxman not come around to let you pay the tax you pay for the non commercial?

I'm not saying it's the right thing to do. I don't agree with it myself - however I was talking to a garda recently who informed me once all belts/ seats in use there is no direct rule against overloading. |

They would. However in the mean time one would have to also pay VRT, which can be rather expensive. On my jeep it might be 2000 euro I'm not sure. However when new it could be upwards of 50,000. They will also charge you the different tax rate @ 1800 per year and finally leave you sitting on the side of the road. Motoring in Ireland is not fun. |

Ok you made your point. Germany is much cheaper for road tax and also for insurance cost. But I could buy a new one ... at 47.5% discount and I can deduct 100% VAT of my fuel bill as a commercial. And it's diesel high power. In the end it's the result under the bottom line that counts. And that's something everybody has to made for his own. I made my calculation and an SC petrol would kill my bank account. I would love to have my Porsche on german plates instead of Belgian ones. 2017 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 silicon silver 2011 Defender 90 2.4 TDCI Nara Exclusive 2008 Porsche 911 997 4S Black/black 1970 Porsche 911T 2.2 in restauration 1980 Toyota Land Cruiser BJ40 concours winner |
