I don't think it will cause any damage as mine has one snapped off and has been like that for as long as I have had it and who knows how long before all that was done with mine was they taped up the connector so it didn't short out.

John, how do you "not use" them, just by ignoring the preheat stage?

Your engine would run how, just not as smoothly though I doubt you'd notice much difference after a few seconds if you only have two working ones left! The initial starting from stone cold in the morning and the evening will take a bit more cranking than normal so make sure your battery is in good health |

I've been running diesel engined vehicles for over 15 years now and never use glow plugs unless it's colder than -10c. No point as diesel nowadays comes with anti waxing agents which stop it waxing in the cold weather and it is the waxing that causes the cold starting problems

Don't know if unplugging the relay will throw up any faults or not, why not just leave it plugged in, won't do any harm that way |
