Advanced Factors do Brembo pads, discs & brake kits

Hi,

Are these the correct pads for the front of the SC which has Brembo callipers as they seem like a good price?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Brembo-Front-Bra...19de9e9beb

Pursuant to this linked thread where I picture a chewed front offside driveshaft hub nut http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic23241.html

I’m having the SC looked at by a non LR specialist mechanic friend at his nearby garage (he’s very competent and careful). This might result in me taking the car to the MD but will mean that if I do go, I’ll be directing them towards a specific issue, hence saving time.

I’m going to ask him to inspect the callipers, discs, pads and driveshaft/ hub nut to try and detect what the whirling noise is that comes on at speed and to ensure that there are no problems around these components. I suspect he might observe that the car would benefit from new front pads; hence I’m interested in these Brembo pads.

I presume there are no specialist requirements with a non LR specialist/ DIYer fitting brake pads to an SC?

Thanks

All brakes on s/c and tdv8 easily serviced by anyone with some basic tools, i know i have done it have a look in the wiki, if you can take the wheel off you can change the pads. Its that simple.......

Bit more involved in the discs bit fronts are simple enough, rears bit trickier due to the epb but not really hard afaik. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Thanks all/nmj.. I do quite fancy having a go at fitting new ones myself tbh.

@ Stan - Notwithstanding that these pads I've highlighted might not fit the SC, are they not actual Brembo as the advert specifically states "Part Manufacturer: Brembo"... is there something I'm missing from the aD?

Thanks Thumbs Up

the reason i mentioned getting proper brembo's is cos a lot of sellers market their pads for brembo equipped FF's but are in fact delphis or ferados pads etc.....the ones in your ad seem to be genuine.. Thumbs Up

Yes but if the pic and schematic are anything to go by then they are not right. The brembo pads for the cars with brembo calipers are square with 2 holes at the top for the pins to go through.

These seem to be for a single pot caliper...... Unless the pics and diagram are wrong.

Brembo themselves make disks not pads... Pads are made by an outside company Thumbs Up

As per the discussion i had with Stan ^... We have tried aftermarket 'non-genuine' pads in "Brembo" equipt FF's and every time they were rubbish!

The thing is they are not made by JLR, they are merely manufactured by a 3rd party and branded as JLR, so who makes the JLR ones ?
