TYRO with SLROC at Dumbarton

Hello

I thought you might like to see a few pictures of my off-roading adventures.

I normally marshal at the Scottish Land Rover Owners Club trials, but due to only a few entrants at the last event of the year I thought I would give it a go...

Unfortunately I got stuck on the way to the first trials section...

and made an ar$e of myself...

But once I got going I started having fun

Picture doesn't show, but my excuse for stopping the action here was the scary side slope Confused

Climbed this hill, no problem

Approaching a very muddy section

Straddled the first bit

But got stuck like few others in the second hole

Pulled out by a trusty Defender with an elastic band

I had a really great day out and would highly recommend it to anyone.

Standard Road tyres at the moment.

The first time I got stuck I was crossing a drainage ditch at the side of the main track which I didn't realise was so soft and the second time was a massive mud pit there was no way of avoiding with the layout of the course. A number of people with stickier tyres got stuck too.

The rest of the time it was faultless across some quite rough, wet and in othe points muddy terrain.

I was really impressed at how well it did and at points it was better than my old D2 which did have mud terrains on.

I am thinking of putting some 275/45/20 Grabber AT's on, but after it's great performances over the first couple of months of ownership I am in no rush and think I will wait for puncture's / tyres to wear before replacing. 2006 FFRR TDV8 Vogue

It's pretty amazing what these things can do even with road tyres.

Fingers crossed for some white stuff to play out in soon Thumbs Up GONE 2010 Facelifted 3.6 TDV8 - Stornoway Grey + 22" Overfinch Olympus
