New FFRR

Hi all,

Looking at buying this FFRR next week. Just wondering if you guys have any opinions on it?

Hopefully will get it 1t £18500 - if the dealer im buying it through in Guernsey can negotiate like he says!

Really excited to get one bought eventually.

Any concerns, opinions, pointers gratefully received (good or bad)

Regards

I quite like the colour combo, Might not be a good idea with the baby due next month though!!

Im thinking the Diesel as its more economical, although I would be tempted to go for a Petrol 4.2SC as most on Autotrader have less miles on them for the same price as the 3.6TDV8.

Just worked out costing for my 3/4/5 yearly trips back to the North East and it would cost £120 for 376 miles in the SC, and £124 for 558 miles in the TDV8, so for the same amount of miles it would cost me £60 extra in a SC. I cant really justify that extra spend I'd kiss the ground for the welcome sound of me mother sayin 'Hinny Howay'

Are those powered side steps? Or is there a sill cover missing ?

Boot badges in wrong position - range rover too high, and the vogue and oval also.

Not major, but could have had a bit of paint.......

Looks tidy. Like that interior.

Dear guernseygeordie if 5 trips a year cost you 300 £ more and that is worrying you, don't buy a FFRR at all. The costs of maintaining and the odd thing that might go wrong will cost you a lot more. The value of this car will diminish a 3k approx. every year. Please don' get me wrong I do not have the intention to say you can not afford it, but the diesel argument moneywise goes completely beyond me. Just my 2 or 3P worth nothing opinion. It still is a very nice car.

Robert,

Don't get me wrong, £120 a trip extra won't break the bank (300 odd miles there and then back) but I think over the life of my ownership I would save quite a bit, now, the SC's that are in my price range all seem to have lower mileage than the TDV8's so I am torn as a lower mileage vehicle would have a better resale value.

I'm going to have to seriously consider the SC vs TDV8 argument. Anyone had experience of both Question I'd kiss the ground for the welcome sound of me mother sayin 'Hinny Howay'
