Tickover

Hi All, my 04 4.4 ticks over at around 850 rpm this seems a little high I think as at the lights etc it almost wants to pull away, can this be adjusted ? Also what is the normal rpm at tickover. Thanks Mick

Right .... as far as I can remember it's either - turn the key to position 1 for three mins then turn off and remove key and then start as normal

OR

Turn key to position 1 for three mins then start the car without turning off

But then again it could both the above but position 2 instead of 1............

whichever combination it is it works because I've had the same problem!

The TPS memory is lost if you leave the ignition on (position 2) without starting for more than 3 or 4 mins

My SC was idling too high, just take your foot off the brake and you would be off!

My LR Indy said there was an engine management software upgrade to cure this (something about compensating for wear on the throttle body I think?) he's done the update and it's now much better.

I'd get the software checked for the latest version(s). 2006 4.2 SC
