Fuel flap destroyed !

So a mate who's just got an L322 ( 2004 ) V8 rings me last night and asks how he gets the fuel flap open as he's at a petrol pump and can't open it. You push on the right hand side and it just flips open I replied. Am doing but it's solid he says. I then hear a cry of pain and a loud noise. It's bloody open but I've nearly broken my finger doing it he shouts down the phone.
This morning his son tells me that he's completely fecked the fuel flap and the locking mechanism. ripped it right out it seems. Then the penny drops. He has his FFR set for one click on the fob opens the drivers door and a second unlocks all the other doors.... and thus the fuel flap. Perhaps if he'd read the owners handbook like he was told......

To be fair, I looked like a Censored during the test drive for mine, as I was at sainsburys trying to put fuel in and could not open the flap.

Then figured the above out before any damage was done.

I think the mechanism can be got to inside the rear panel can it not ? 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

I just press the unlock button centre of the dash below the hazard light button before I get out of the car to fuel up. .

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Zermatt Silver

I found the middle button unlocking thing on the very first day I owned my first FF.

Some mouthy cow in a Golf parked behind me at my village Shell station and asked me to hurry up. Unable to, I stormed off after telling her what I thought of her unwarranted verbal attack, only to return an hour later to repeat the process (now figured out) and apologise to the garage owner. He saw the whole thing and wasn't happy with her manner either.

Anyway, lesson learnt for us all. RTFM. Si. <This is my name.
