Intelligent Battery Monitoring

Has anyone heard of the above before on a 2004 FFRR?

The AA chap was adamant my FF has it and I need to tell the car it has a new battery??

I don't see it personally as my last battery has been fine for nearly a year with no issues but it appears that the battery has now stopped taking a charge again

Any thoughts re this??
