Can you actually rent winter/studded tyres in Sweden ?? Just in case I decide to take the FFRR there next winter Wink would love to visit our friends in the FFRR and cruise a bit more of Sweden.

Understand what you are saying about the bar and you're right high beams can actually make things worse when driving in rain/snow (has been a while since I did but do rememeber that). High mounted lights are great for driving in the dark without rain/snow/fog.

The car is definitely understated and still striking, nice balance you found Smile. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

I have'nt heard of anyone renting tires at all so I don't think it's a market for that, however I have not done any research in the matter.
If you're not going north of mid Sweden there is a good chance you're not going to need winter tires at all, Dec-feb is the worst months, but it's not sure to be winter conditions in south/mid Sweden every year.

As for the lights I agree 100% as I have 600w of halogen high mounted on the rollbar on my Amarok Very Happy 2010MY TDV8 Vogue Nara bronze / Arabica, Ivory. VW Amarok 2013 180 auto

Our friends are in the south no higher than Jonkoping (Mullsjo) but they had plenty snow when we were there last and I was quite happy with our studded tyres. In case we do go, I will be getting normal winter tyres then on a second set of wheels. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

In a FF you won't have any problems on normal winter tires as long as you stay on roads Smile 2010MY TDV8 Vogue Nara bronze / Arabica, Ivory. VW Amarok 2013 180 auto

@Seabass

I'm trying to find some winter tyres for my 22" rims and noticed your thread. The only Cooper tyres I can find are the LTZ which have a pretty poor Wet Grip rating. When I search for Cooper AT I get nowhere really.

Please can you advise which tyres you have and any other fitting details I need to worry about that you haven't alread mentioned on this thread.

Sorry to be a pest but you tyres look great and are just the kind of thing / size I'm after so I'd be interested to know your findings for wet weather use etc.

Many thanks!

Specs etc are mentioned earlier in this thred so take a look there, As for the wet grip n the 22" I haven't noticed any poor grip, I'd recommend them to everyone.

Hope this helps Thumbs Up 2010MY TDV8 Vogue Nara bronze / Arabica, Ivory. VW Amarok 2013 180 auto

I really like it, If you need a euro-pickup (small) I think its superior in it's class having tried Isuzu, Nissan, Toyota, Ford, Chevy etc.
I've done 45000km in mine now without any problems at all, if I don't get a Discovery after having this for 3yrs, I think I'll get another Amarok. Smile 2010MY TDV8 Vogue Nara bronze / Arabica, Ivory. VW Amarok 2013 180 auto

Are you talking about the Nissan V6 or the 2.5Dci?

I tried both of them and my opinion is that the Amarok is superior in every way. 2010MY TDV8 Vogue Nara bronze / Arabica, Ivory. VW Amarok 2013 180 auto

I've been thinking about making all pillars gloss black along with the grey plastic thing on the bonnet, grey plastic on the rear bumper and bottom of the sidesteps, anyone seen this on another car? I tried searching but did not find any, please help me make up my mind, I think it would look great along all the other gloss black bits and wheels.
