My Dad asked me to help, as I have a golden rule for him "Never buy or do anything with your car without consulting me first", as I can always get things cheaper or fix things for him.

He got a large thorn in a rear tyre that couldn't be repaired and weirdly, a sidewall bulge on the opposite side, so needed 2 new tyres. The car is running Pirellis and I knew AJS Tyres had some.

Dad got a quote from his local National Tyre place, they wanted £381 for each tyre

I'm convinced they think "Old duffer in a Range Rover won't know any different or care" and charge the earth.

AJS tyres sold me 4 (I needed 2 for my spare set) at £180 a corner, saving my dad £400.
