Talking of ceefax, I remember when ceefax (or more specifically the ITV version Teletext) started doing a service from somebody like Barclaycard whereby you could check your credit card statement on the TV by ringing a number and getting given a specific page number to look at (I also remember some 4 digit code in there somewhere) - then you pressed numbers on the telephone to switch pages.

I remember the look on my parents faces when I showed them how I figured out how to 'hack' it by typing in a random page number and waiting for the 'pause' as it scrolled past a page number someone was looking at - key in that number and you got a mirror view of what they were looking at, complete with all their credit card details.

I remember seeing some very strange purchases.
