Opinions on this FF

Hi Guys,

Its coming up to the time where I invest in a FFRR as my daughter is due to arrive in 48 days and I will need to upgrade from my Golf to a bigger car to get all of her stuff in for our trips back to the North East!!

Been hunting around on Autotrader for one and came across this

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/adv...?logcode=p

Can I get some opinions please, as I am not sure what I should be ;looking out for

Cheers I'd kiss the ground for the welcome sound of me mother sayin 'Hinny Howay'

Looks pretty good, but I worry about a dealer who doesn't know their product.

The 3 things that distinguish a VSE over a Vogue is heated AND cooled seats, 20" alloys, along with rear seat entertainment and yet there's no mention of any of them.

Also the ad talks about "upgrades" - these are standard! Since when was 4 wheel drive an option on a RR? Whistle

All in all, it might be a good car, but a close look armed with Ryans excellent buyers guide and a knowledgeable friend might be in order. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Looks a tidy & original car.

Seems like a general used car dealer, so I guess he can be forgiven for not knowing what's an extra vs standard

GG looks good, I like the colour combination, only issue for me would be warranty, I would get at least 2 years with that mileage and make sure you have someone on the island who can carry out repairs in a timely manner, price seems good to me Thumbs Up

Cheers lads, Ive located a Land Rover trained indy on the Island, does servicing for all of the Emergency Services off road vehicles. Just a bit scared using a dealer that Ive never heard of or had any recomendations for. The only option I have is to travel to the mainland and view/test drive a few or get one imported via a company over here and take out a warrenty with them!

You might struggle getting a warranty once the car goes over 100,000 miles anyway, I did with mine.

You could contact the dealer and get some details on the service history, so you can then contact the dealer who did the service(s) for a bit of background. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Looks nice, I like it. Thumbs Up

You MUST get a decent warranty though as it's at the prime age and mileage for munching on a turbo. Big Cry 2006 4.2 SC

Thats why I mentioned the warranty pre 100K, does a mainland warranty not cover you for the islands? Or is it because you are not in the EU, maybe move to Jockland, if the masses have their way we will be out of it too, albeit without a 20% income tax Rolling with laughter

Description seems fair enough, general dealer fare, no privacy glass though as in description......pics kinda give that away.

Fairly high milage for the age but i suppose the price reflects that to an extent.

Looks like a fairly tidy car, go armed with the check list and a knowledgeable mate and you should be ok!

Chances are at that age and milage the bushes will be starting to wear so if not done already then it could be a bargaining point, check to see of the atlernator has been replaced at some point, the paperwork may substantiate, if not then a call to the servicing main dealer would confirm.

Gearbox service recomended at that kind of milage, as a preventative measure, budget £400, front and rear diff oils also due though can be done by most garages so long as they read the destructions. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

FFRR to transport new baby + gear. Hmm, I think you'll find this more suitable. Mr. Green

Seriously, the RR you mentioned looks nice. The black is one of my favourite colours (except on wash day) and they all drive beautifully. Make sure to have it checked out and that it's had it servicing.

Cheers lads, unfortunately red is not my colour!! More of a black and white man Mr. Green

That truck looks rather better, especially the way SWMBO packs!!!

Is there anywhere out there I can buy a warranty for a car with 70/80k + miles on it? I'd kiss the ground for the welcome sound of me mother sayin 'Hinny Howay'

So it has to be a 3.6 TDV8 with RSE

Not particular about RSE as we both have iPads that I can hook up to the headrests but think the 3.6 TDV8 will be best for us I'd kiss the ground for the welcome sound of me mother sayin 'Hinny Howay'
