Don't fly Ryanair...

You're better off walking, unless you want to be trapped on a plane stuck at a closed airport overnight with no information or even something to drink.

Why do people still fly with this airline?

Yes, that's the ryanair story. When it works, apart from all the add on charges that makes it more expensive than a decent airline, they seem pretty efficient. When it doesn't work you end up completely f*ked in the ar$e by OLeary, as experienced by these passengers.

I think in this instance the airline behaved illegally. You can't lock people on a plane for hours like that.

Strange that the only news items about this are on youtube or other streaming media sites, nothing on the main news sites!

Judging from the video Stan, what was better - the comfort of your supercharged full fat, or trapped in an aluminium tube for hours at Gatwick? Laughing

Are they not almost always on time for landings as they declare an emergency when nearly there due to running with the absolute minimum?

I once heard they were looking to use a steeper glide path in approaches to help save fuel compared to normal approach angles... I thought it might be a joke but you never know! FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Feckin' outrageous! Why has this not been on the national news?

My guess is, the staff knew the plane was going to be delayed until the morning and rather than get the passengers off and have to pay for hotel rooms, they hoped the passengers would "put up and shut up". Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue
