04 RR Won't Lock - Help

Okay so I am pressing lock on the key, and it won't lock. Tried starting up the vehicle and the battery is dead. All the courtesy lights come on, the navigation even comes on. The navigation changed from English to French somehow. Need advice on how I should proceed with this or if anyone has gone through with something similar. Also, I have left the RR unlocked as I didn't want to manually lock it and then be locked out of it forever, and the lights come on when I press unlock on the key.

Thanks,

Hey Stan, yeah this is my second battery and probably opt for it warranty. With a new battery will the lock function come back?

Sounds like your key battery is dead or lost its memory and wants re-syncing Thumbs Up

Hey Craig, I tried the other key as well and no response. So I ruled out the key.

Second on battery Thumbs Up , when I had a flat battery I just locked all doors manually, drivers door with key. A new RR battery fitted and all was well. Thumbs Up
My FF was dead, ie no battery fitted while I waited for a new one, all I did was unlock drivers door with key, fit new battery then cycle the locks....lock car up then unlock Thumbs Up If it dont work.......burn it!

If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.

If the FF cant be fixed......buy a Land Cruiser!

If the LC cant be fixed..............................................BUY a horse !!

Okay awesome! I'll try and grab myself a new battery or perhaps claim warranty on the existing one by the end of this week. Out of curiosity, if the RR is not being driven how long does it take for a new battery to drain. I am wondering if I might have drainage issues (already replaced the FSR once).
