Yes cought in time and tightened up with the ratchet spanner, it's a pig of a job and you must get that tray off to get to it.

Hmm looks like the leak was this bit and the bolt on the water pump.

i have a similar v8, with the same leaks! my water pump 'gasket' seemed to be leaking, so changed it twice, still leaking! i eventually, left off the fan and cowl, to test it up to temp etc, and with a 'mirror on a stick' and a powerful torch, was able to see the cause, it turned out to be the actual aftermarket waterpump i fitted last year, has gone pourous! yes, it weeps fluid from around one of the casting 'webs' very odd! new one on now, and seems to be holding! underneath, the same transmission cooler area 'junction' connector piece, was leaking, but a little wrestling has sorted it, but will keep an eye on it. this three pipe junction piece, can be bought separate for about £30 -it seems to not be well secured, to me. when all ok, i will put my tray back on. lucky its not too cold yet, so i can drain, and add antifreeze at the weekend.

That 3 pipe junction piece really is cheap and nasty but glad it can be bought separately as its bound to break.

Update to the leak, as I had suspected the O ring was at fault so thought I would share. If you have a leak at this 4 way junction, clamp the 4 pipes ( I used small mole grips ), split the pipe off the main housing with a small screw driver which is retained with a wire retainer and just change the O ring, 20mm R11 type I used and all sorted.

Quite a common fault these O rings... Well done for finding which pipe, satisfying when you sort it |
