I took delivery of my 3.0 Vogue L405 last week, it seems that it's rained everyday so I have not uploaded any pics yet, plus it's Barolo black so I need the sunshine to show the colour to its best.

I have added a set of Style 7 with Continental Cross Contact LX tyres and on the majority of road surfaces I am experiencing a lot of tyre noise. There is a post on RangeRover.net discussing the issue, has anybody else experienced this noise?

As you have a tdv6, it might be that you need a bracket to be fitted at the front of the vehicle. This is to rectify vibration issues, however I think it has been fitted at the factory on MY14+. The sdv8 has it anyhow.

I have (supposedly) a Continental representative who will drive in the RR, with me, to hear the noise. The wheels and tyres came from a third party who has organised this.

My L405 is a Vogue and the mighty LR config God will not allow me to have them from factory, they are "take offs" from a reputable specialist wheel and tyre supplier in Manchester.

the bracket reduces noise and vibration at the front of the vehicle, it was omitted from tdv6 models to save weight + cost. Some models, however do resonate and therefore the dealer can install it.

There is a TSB on this, but you will have to ask the dealer - who will tell you to have OEM equipment, so they can then test and place a claim if necessary.

This might be a complete farce however, as I think MY14 cars will all have the bracket regardless of engine size.

Car is booked in Tuesday morning for the RR dealer to check to see if I have the "bracket". Thanks for the info.

I tested a v8 diesel last week and it had one of those. Never had seen one before on an SUV, let alone a LR

A strut brace....... Used to have one on my Prodrive Impreza. Don't have one on my TDV6, will check with dealer.

My 3.0 TDV6 does not have the mystery bracket. It is not visible like a traditional strut brace by popping the bonnet up and, by the look of the diagram, it looked like they went under the vehicle to look for it. It is now re booked in for Thursday to have it fitted so I will update you to see if gets rid of the "noise".
