Tow electrics broken socket.

So the next issue with the L322,

The tow electrics socket is rusted and one of the pins is broken, I have no rear lights on the drivers side.
Factory fitted electrics.
There is no slack in the wiring to the socket, is there anyway I can make some from the wiring without taking the rear bumper off.
Wirining a new socket is not an issue If I can make a little slack in the wires. 2011 Vogue 4.4 TDV8

Hi,

I just cut mine and put a metre of new cable and a new socket on, then did joint inside the boot.

Cable can be pushed into the boot without removing bumper, you may be able to pull some through but not 100% sure, it can be quite tight.

The connector to the car system for an 11 MY if it is factory fitted will be on the nearside rear wheel well bulkhead. It's a grey block. From there it goes through a grommet to the towing socket. If you cannot make some slack, you should be able to splice in some wiring inside the car and push it through the grommet to then connect to your (new) tow socket.

Failing that a new harness from the car socket to towing socket is avilable from the likes of P F Jones etc.

and probably available elsewhere. Cheers
