I would tend to agree with Criag, get a solicitor on the case.

If the repairs were carried out less than 12 months ago then you should have a decent leg to stand on just in terms of a guarantee on the repair before you even consider warranties. As for it not being a mechanical failure...... what else are they going to call it! The mechanical bits seem to have failed. Split turbo hoses are covered on most warranties afaik, and usually failures relating from a covered item are normally also covered. But it wholly depends on the warranty provider and the small print in your policy.

They will try to squirm out of it, if they do, then lawyer up and see how you get on. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I don`t think any engine control unit is programmed to inject so much fuel as to cause oil dilution or contamination to that extent .
Leaking piezo injectors on the other hand have destroyed many engines . Just look around for info on modern bmw and toyota diesels as well as many others .
Check your oil level religiously every day or two in case the oil level rises due to leaking fuel . Removing the oil filler cap and a quick sniff in the filler neck for fuel fumes . Any heavy fuel smell indicates a problem .

The original post the OP has listed the car as a Petrol Supercharger. Is he talking about that one or a diesel he has?

Thanks everyone. Will try find a solicitor who knows cars. Welcome all Ideas. The specialist has made his opinion based on what he can see and so the warranty company are clear at this point the failure is "drive on damage" (not insured) of the engine caused by a failure in a hose (not insured) and no mechanical failure of any specific component (other than all of the engine). Even though I couldn't have known about the drive on damage (I noticed the black smoke the day before it died), apparently that doesn't count. The people who replaced the engine say their engine was perfectly fine and the issue is he oil dilution and so they shouldn't pay. Apparently 50 hours labour plus replacement engine. Seems awfully unlucky but I find it hard to grasp that an engine warranty doesn't cover this.

I can 100% recommend Bobby Bell - Absolutely top bloke & FFRR driver Thumbs Up

He's more of a motoring solicitor - i.e. driving offences, but may cover this or be able to refer you on.

It`s not rocket science to test the injectors for leakage and that will tell you all you need to know .
It will transpire as the cause .
