A friend has been to look at a 2005 TD6 Vogue facelift model today and there was an issue which I cannot find a thread about anywhere on the net!

The service interval indicator counts down erratically, cover 20 miles and the car seems to think it has covered 400 miles! A few thousand miles later and it's time for a service again!

Are there any known issues / simple rectifications to sort it or does it sounds like a instrument binnacle?
